  • Who is on the Kettlebell Kitchen Team?

    We are hardworking, passionate individuals who believe in the importance of good nutrition and the value of high-quality food. We think our customers in New York and New Jersey deserve fresh, healthy, Paleo and Zone meals, just like customers in other states have. We are committed to developing nutritionally sound meals that also taste great-that's why we're contracting with professional chefs and nutritionists to develop a highly nutritious and energy-filled menu.

  • Why the name Kettlebell Kitchen?

    The Kettlebell, a cast-iron weight, is to the athlete, what the cast-iron pan was to your grandmother's prized recipes – the most versatile, long-lasting, trusted tool in her arsenal! Since the 1700's, Russian weight-lifters have been using the Kettlebell to develop strength, balance, cardio-endurance and hand-eye coordination. At Kettlebell Kitchen, we want to be your secret weapon to developing overall health and fitness; we believe that the foods which have nourished humans for millions of years – lean meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds - are the best tools to help your body rebuild and recover optimally. Our meals rely on traditional ingredients to minimize intestinal inflammation so you can better absorb nutrients and fuel the hardest working machine you know – your body!

  • What is the deadline to place an order?

    We ask that you place an order for Sunday/Monday delivery by Wednesday of the week prior (5 days ahead), and for our midweek delivery by Saturday of the week prior (4 days ahead). This is so we have time to source the freshest ingredients possible for your made-to-order meals

  • From where will you source your food?

    We are proud to source 100% grass-fed and pastured beef, which is ideal to help keep your Omega-3 and Omega-6 intake in balance! We also source free-range and antibiotic-free chicken, turkey and pork, as well as organic eggs and wild salmon! As with any business there may be an instance where the supplier falls through on one of the above and we have to source from another purveyor, but this is rare and in less than 1% of all instances.

  • What days of the week do you deliver?

    We deliver twice a week, first on Monday morning and then on Wednesday or Thursday morning depending on your location. Specific delivery times vary by gym. Please contact us if you'd like to know the approximate delivery time for your gym.

  • How much food is in the medium vs large meals?

    Medium meals generally contain 4 to 4.5 ounces of protein and 6 to 8 ounces of vegetables/sides.  
    Large meals generally contain 6 to 7 ounces of protein and 10 to 12 ounces of food vegetables/sides.
    65% of customers find the Medium size meals to be filling, while our more active athletes and larger adults tend to choose the large option.

  • What are the Calories and Macros associated with a typical meal?

    We try to hit the following targets for our meals as close as possible to make it easy for you:

  • What is an Athlete meal?

    We label our meals that have a higher carbohydrate content and lower fat content as "Athlete" meals, so customers who are looking for these types of meals can easily find them.  Many of our athletes like "high carb" meals to fuel their training, especially to help replenish glycogen stores after a tough workout.

  • What do the GF, DF, SF, Slim and Macro tags mean?
    • All of our meals are naturally free of Gluten and Dairy. We add the "GF" and "DF" tags to remind customers of this benefit!
    • The "SF" tag stands for Sweetener Free. We already restrict the use refined sugars (because they are really bad for you!), but we do use 100% natural sweeteners like honey and maple syrup in limited quantities, and only in certain meals to add a little sweetness to them. The "SF" tag allows customers who are really strict about these natural sweeteners to identify dishes that don't use them at all.
    • The "Slim" tag refers to meals that we believe are better for weight management and that have the following characteristics: Higher in Protein, Moderate in Healthy Fats, and Lower in Carbs.
    • The "Macro" tag refers to meals that are often popular with our athletes and that have the following characteristics: High in Protein, Low to Moderate in Healthy Fats, and High in Carbs
  • How long do the meals stay fresh?

    Our meals stay fresh for between three to five days, depending on the meal, and therefore we have bi-weekly deliveries to make sure you always have access to fresh meals during your week (Monday through Friday)!

  • Do you discard my meals if I don't pick them up?

    We are required by regulation to discard your meals if not picked up by the expiration date. Please pick up your meals within a day or two of delivery otherwise the meals may need to be discarded. Thank you for your understanding.

  • How do I select a delivery date?

    Upon checkout, you will have the option to select either Monday or Wednesday/Thursday for your delivery. Since delivery is guaranteed by noon, we recommend you select your delivery date as follows (based on the day you'd like to consume your meal).

  • How do I reheat my meals?

    Each meal comes with specific and easy reheating instructions for both oven and microwave reheating. The choice is yours!

  • In case I have allergies, how do I know what ingredients are used in my food?

    Each menu item comes with a full ingredient list on our website, so you will know exactly what you're ordering!

  • Do you have any meal plans?

    We encourage you to choose your own meals for the week, and we give you discounts on bulk orders. This way you get to eat what YOU want to eat. Spend $50 or more and get a 5% discount on checkout by entering the code "Healthy". Spend $100 or more and get a 10% discount on checkout by entering the code "Planner". However, if you need a little help deciding, or want us to choose meals for you, just contact us and we'd be happy to help. We do offer custom meal plans for customers looking to use KBK for 2 meals or more per day, and if you are interested in a custom meal plan email us and one of our nutritionists will gladly help you out!

  • If I have a recurring order, when does it get billed? When do I need to cancel by? What if I want to skip a week?

    Recurring orders (on automatic billing) get billed every Wednesday at midnight-- the same time as our ordering cutoff. If you want to cancel a recurring order for the next week, please note that you should do so before Wednesday night, otherwise the recurring order will bill and your order will be placed for the next week. You can always skip your recurring order for a week by going to "My Account" at the top of the webpage-- please just remember to do so before the ordering cutoff.

  • If I place an order can I then cancel it if something comes up?

    You can always cancel your order for a full refund before the ordering deadline for your order's delivery date. Just email us and let us know. After the ordering deadline our general policy is to offer 50% back since by that point we've already sourced the produce for your meal, but if you email us with your specific situation we may be able to accommodate 100% depending on the circumstance. Things come up and we are very nice and understanding people!

  • If I'm not a member of one of the partner gyms, can I still place an order?

    Most of our gyms allow non-members, so it should be ok! Please use our delivery locations map under the How to Order tab to locate one or two convenient pickup spots near you, and then email us at [email protected] and we can obtain permission for you.

  • I have a great idea of a new menu item—who should I contact?

    We love hearing from you! If you have a great idea or want to learn more about our service, please let us know!
